How to provide your IOSS and UK VAT numbers to Swiss Post?

Providing your IOSS and UK VAT numbers to Swiss Post ensures your shipments are handled appropriately. 

As there are several options for sending goods consignments abroad at Post CH Ltd, the different entry options are described below.

The individual entry options are explained step by step in the following sections. Screenshots are taken to show where the IOSS number can be stored to ensure that the mailing is carried out correctly.

 

International small goods accompanying documents (Small Parcels/Kleinwaren)
 

For individual entry: the IOSS number is entered in the “Tax number” field under sender data.

If you enter several addresses via csv file upload, the IOSS number is entered in the “Sender tax no.” field.

 

Create waybill on account (PostPac International)
 

When creating the waybill, the sender can enter their IOSS number in the “Tax number” field at the bottom of the sender address (see screenshot). We also recommend entering these in the “Special Clearance Instructions” field (IOSS: xxxxxxxxx), as this is then printed on both the waybill and the commercial invoice. 
 

Additional tip: If you create your own commercial invoice, it should be enclosed outside the parcel, so that the necessary data can be displayed clearly (e.g. including VAT collected)

WSC via Forcklabs (Small Parcels/Kleinwaren)
 

The new “Webshop Connector International” or short WSC, is operated by an independent plug-in provider. Forcklabs has independently developed a Swiss Post module. If you use the fee-based service from Forcklabs, you can enter the IOSS no. as follows. 
 

1. Log in to the Forcklabs WSC tool.

You have to repeat this process for every integrated shop. Settings are saved for every shop individually. 

4. Choose "Tax numbers” and input your IOSS and/or UK VAT number.

IOSS number should include IM at the beginning and the UK VAT number starts with GB.

Repeat the procedure for all integrated stores.

5.  Do not forget to press save at the bottom of the page after you have input your IOSS/ UK VAT number 

 

Note: If you have any Marketplaces *Amazon, Ebay etc. you may need to use their IOSS and UK VAT numbers, not the registry numbers you have received from EAS
