You can install the EAS EU & UK Compliance connector yourself by following this guide. If you would rather we do it, EAS installs and configures the connector free of charge. See EAS Shopify collaboration request.
Before you start
The following must be in place before the connector can be enabled in your store:
- An active EAS registration. If you are not registered yet, register at easproject.com/reg.
- EU VAT set up in your store. See How to set up VAT rates in Shopify.
-
Your API Key and API Secret from the EAS Dashboard. To find them:
- Sign in at dashboard.easproject.com.
- Click your initials in the top right corner and select General Settings.
- Copy the API Key.
- Click the eye icon next to API Secret to show it, then copy it.
Step 1: Install the connector
Install the EAS EU & UK Compliance connector from the Shopify App Store.
The connector fee is credited in full.
The connector costs US$5.90 a month, paid through Shopify. We deduct the same value in euros from your EAS monthly service fee, so you do not pay for the connector twice. For example, on the €19.90 Starter plan, your EAS monthly service fee is €19.90 minus the euro equivalent of US$5.90. See EAS pricing for Shopify.
Step 2: Open the connector settings
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and select EAS EU Compliance.
- Click Settings in the connector menu.
Step 3: Connect your EAS account
- Switch on Enable EAS account connection.
- Make sure Enable test mode is switched off.
- Paste your API Key into Production ID.
- Paste your API Secret into Production Secret.
- Save your changes.
Step 4: Check the order settings
Scroll down the Settings page and check the following.
- Immediately process paid orders: if you ship from locations both inside and outside the EU, leave this unticked. See How the EAS Shopify app decides which orders go into IOSS reporting.
- Add EAS tags for the processed orders: keep this ticked. The tags show which orders EAS has processed.
- Customs Description meta field: tick this if you use EAS EU DDP or Swiss Post DDP.
Your store is now connected to EAS.
Once you receive your first order, check that it is visible in your EAS Dashboard.
Advanced settings (optional)
Most stores do not need to change these. Contact us if you are unsure.
- Default values for the product attributes: these are used only when a product has no value of its own.
- Locations on the Settings page: your seller registration country, the country of origin of your goods and your warehouse country.
- Locations page: click Locations in the connector menu and set the country for each location. Keep the locations in the same order as Settings → Locations → Fulfillment priority in your Shopify store. If you change the priority in Shopify, change it here too.
