Use this guide to generate a Developer API Key in Squarespace and connect it in the EAS Client Dashboard.
Quick path:
- Open the Squarespace site dashboard.
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
- Open Developer Tools.
- Open Developer API Keys.
- Click Generate Key, enter a key name, select permissions, generate the key, and save it securely.
Step 1. Open Settings
On the Squarespace site dashboard, click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner. It is marked with a red arrow in the screenshot.
Step 2. Go to Developer Tools
In the settings menu on the left, select Developer Tools. Then, in the central list, open Developer API Keys.
Step 3. Click Generate Key
On the Developer API Keys page, click the Generate Key button.
Step 4. Enter the key name
In the Key Name field, enter a clear name for the key. For example: EAS API Key. The name is used only for convenience, so you can later identify which integration the key was created for.
Step 5. Select the required permissions
Select only the permissions required for the integration. For the EAS Project integration, enable the permissions required for EAS integration:
Products: Read only
Orders: Read only
Profiles: Read only
Step 6. Generate and save the API key
Scroll down in the key generation window if the creation button is not visible, then complete the API key generation.
After the key is generated, copy it and save it in a secure place, such as a password manager or a protected project storage. Do not share the API key in public chats and do not store it directly in your code.
Use this API key in the EAS Client Dashboard to integrate your Squarespace store with EAS Project.
