In most cases Click & Drop will not collect your HS code , even if you keep it in your store. You need to ensure that HS codes are made available for managing directly in Click & Drop.
We use an example from Shopify store in this article but the same approach should be applied to all types of e-commerce stores connected to Click & Drop.
Item Example:
The item (t-shirt) has the following settings in the store :
SKU : B0BSXW2BSZ
Country of origin China
HS code : 6109.10
There are two ways of making HS codes available to your Click & Drop.
- Enable auto-lookup.
Click & Drop has automated function that allows for automated lookup of HS codes with the help of a third party solution. To enable that option , please , tick the box in the "Customs" settings :
This solution is quick fix and requires good goods description for passable results. We recommend that you do not use this solution and upload HS codes manually to the Click & Drop Dashboard.
The result of the application of the above method would render the following automatic HS code lookup :
2. Uploading HS codes to the Click & Drop internal data base .
You do not chose the auto look up option in the customs settings:
Go to p"Products" and then choose "Create product" :
In the new window you can input item name and attributes:
MAke sure that the SKU code matches exactly the one used in the store, since the item is identified and matched by the SKU code. Press "Create product" as soon as you are finished with customs attributes. New product becomes visible in the list :
Now when an order with an item that has a matching SKU is received the data from the store the customs data would be pulled from the internal Click and Drop data base:
Repeat the process for all your items. SCV file can be used for the process in case when your store contains many items and manual input is too laborious.
To use SCV upload choose "Products" followed by " Import" from the main menu. The following form will allow you to map the fields and upload your SCV file :
