Overview
The EU Customs Tariffs Guide helps you estimate customs duty rates for goods imported into the EU and find your product's HS code.
You can use the tool to:
Calculate EU import duty rates
Identify or validate an HS code
Understand how different inputs affect tariff calculations
The tool works with both basic and detailed inputs.
The more accurate the information you provide, the more precise the results will be.

How to Use the Tool
To get a tariff estimate, you must provide the following:
A product description, or an HS code (if you already know it)
Country of Origin
Product Description or HS Code
Using a Product Description
If you don’t know the HS code, you can describe the product instead.
The tool will:
Analyze your description
Suggest the most relevant HS code(s)
Use that classification to estimate tariffs
Accuracy matters
The more detailed your description (materials, use, composition, function), the better the classification and tariff estimate.
Example
Low accuracy:
“Electronic accessory”
High accuracy:
“Wireless Bluetooth plastic headphones with built-in microphone and rechargeable lithium battery”
Using an HS Code
If you already know the HS code, you can enter it directly.
This:
Skips the classification step
Produces the most direct and reliable tariff estimate
Country of Origin
Providing the country of origin is needed for correct tariff rates.
Why country of origin matters
EU customs duties can vary depending on:
Trade agreements
Preferential tariff regimes
Origin-based tariff rules
What is “country of origin”?
Country of origin refers to:
The country where the goods were manufactured, or
Where they underwent substantial transformation
It is not necessarily:
The shipping country
The seller’s location
The warehouse country
Improving Accuracy
For the best results, we recommend:
✔ Providing a detailed product description
✔ Using an HS code when available
